Welcome To PaulieHarraka.com

Paulie Harraka, though only 18 years old, has already built a racing resume that extends from go-karts to NASCAR Grand National cars. Since he began racing in 1997, Harraka has won a total of 158 races in all types of cars, a World Karting Association Triple Crown, the Holley Future Star Award, 13 National Championships, and 6 World Championships in go-karts.  Most recently in the 2007 season, he competed in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series, as part of the NASCAR industry’s Drive for Diversity program.

During his last season of karting in 2005, an invitation from H.A. "Humpy" Wheeler, President of Lowe's Motor Speedway, gave Harraka the opportunity to race a Legends car. Harraka capitalized by winning his first ever race at the Lowe's Motor Speedway Summer Shootout. He went on to win the Winter Heat Final.

The triumph at Lowe’s Motor Speedway paved the way for Harraka, who is of Syrian descent, to participate in Drive for Diversity, which provides opportunities to women and minorities. In 2007, as driver of the No. 16 Briggs and Stratton/Domino’s Pizza NASCAR Late Model Stock Car for Bill McAnally Racing, Paulie won two races on his way to a second place points finish.  He was also named All-American Speedway’s NASCAR Rookie of the Year.

Harraka has associated himself with worldwide companies, such as Honeywell Corporation, through its Autolite division, Simpson Safety Equipment, as new products test driver, AiM Sports Systems, as products development driver, and Ashland Corporation’s Valvoline Oil.

Harraka, a New Jersey native who now resides in Mooresville, N.C., has been equally successful in the classroom.  He is a member of the National Honor Society and was the New Jersey Future Business Leaders of America State Champion two years ago. As a high school senior with a 4.38 Grade Point Average, Harraka will continue his education at Duke University.  Harraka was accepted to Duke under its Early Decision Program. He plans to major in Mechanical Engineering and have a business or marketing related minor.

6/14/08 Blog: Another Top 3!
This weekend brought another great top-3 run for myself and the whole Ruth's Chris Steakhouse Bill McAnally Racing team. A poor qualifying run, which put us 8th in the 21 car field, made it a difficult night. However, our team fought hard and ended up with a 3rd place finish!

6/7/08 Blog: A Quick Weekend!

It seems as though every race weekend that our Ruth's Chris Steakhouse # 16 Toyota Camry team has had this year has been anything but mundane, and this weekend brought yet another new set of circumstances. I was not able to arrive in California until Saturday afternoon, right as the team was loading up the racecar to head to the racetrack. That didn't hold us back: we still led the most laps in the main event, posted the fastest race lap (in order to live up to the support that Quick Time products gives us, we need to have the fastest time every once in a while :-D ), and ended up with a second place finish.

5/18/08 Blog: Our Third Win!
We were fortunate enough to pick up another win this past Saturday, May 17. After winning two races earlier this year by conserving tires and taking the lead at the end, this weekend's win came in a much different style. After starting from the pole, we led all 50 laps at All American Speedway and picked up our third win of the season.

5/3/08 Blog: Our Second Win!

This weekend was an extremely busy, but also extremely successful, weekend for our # 16 Infineon Raceway / Ruth's Chris Steakhouse Toyota Camry. Because of two academic examinations that I had to take, I wasn't able to fly out to California until Friday afternoon, meaning that our team missed All-American Speedway's Open Practice on Thursday. However, everyone at Bill McAnally Racing worked extremely hard on our racecar and we were able to win our second race of the season on Saturday night! This race was particularly special because it was the first of five "Toyota / TRD 100 Lap Events" at All-American Speedway this season.

4/28/08 Blog: Two Weeks of Rough Luck
The last two weeks have definitely been of the "character building" type for the BMR # 16 Ruth's Chris/Infineon Raceway Toyota. Last weekend started out great with a 2nd place qualifying run and a Trophy Dash win, but it ended with a DNF. This week, we had a great car and were challenging for the win when we had a bearing go bad, which resulted in a 5th place finish.
